Rocky's Nightclub, Birkenhead

Rocky's Nightclub in Birkenhead was, for many years, a popular venue for late-night revellers who would pile into the club once all the pubs in the town had emptied out. In fact, even I myself would spend many an enjoyable Saturday night out in Rocky's. Little did I know, though, at the time that the place offered other kinds of spirits than just the drinking variety - for it was reported to have a resident ghost!

Quite a number of spooky happenings have been reported for many years at this old boxer’s club. A shadow of a young man has been spotted here, an apparition who is thought to be that of an old boxer who sadly died at the club. He is nick-named "Knocker," as he likes to knock the staff about as well knock on doors and knock glasses and bar stools around.

Apparently, the former owners of the club tried to get an exorcist to get rid of the ghost. Whether they succeeded or not, I don't know.
