Derek Acorah

Derek Acorah is one of the UK's top psychic mediums. He has starred in the ever-popular UK Living TV series Most Haunted and Most Haunted Live, and also The Antiques Ghost Show. He now has his own series, Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns, which can also be seen on Living TV. With twenty years experience as a full time medium, his accuracy is astonishing and his delivery is unique.

Born on Merseyside, Derek's first real psychic experience came at the age of six, at his Grandmother's home in Bootle, when he relayed a message to his Grandmother from his Grandfather, who appeared to him in spirit form, a man who had died five years before Acorah's birth. However, before he went into psychic mediumship fully, his first career strides were towards the world of football - with a certain team that have done pretty well for themselves this year!

By the age of 13, he was training with legendary Liverpool FC manager, Bill Shankly, and was signed as a professional at 15. After he married and fathered two children, Acorah continued his professional soccer career in Australia, where he played for four years. A knee injury cut his career short, and homesickness brought Acorah back to Liverpool, England.

In the early 1980's, he became a full-time professional medium. As well as investigating some the UK's most haunted locations, Derek has also toured extensively around the world, taking his wonderful psychic abilities to an international audience. In recent years, Acorah achieved international success with his television, radio and personal appearances across Europe, the Middle East and the U.S.

Derek has a spirit guide called Sam, whose regular assistance helps Derek to channel his psychic energy to the full when in communication with the spirit world.

Derek lives in Southport, Merseyside, with his wife Gwen, a German Shepherd and four cats.
